OTTAWA CONGRESS CENTRE CHAIR ANNOUNVES NEW PRESIDENT

Ottawa, January 23, 2007: Jim Durrell, the Chair of the Ottawa Congress Centre today announced the appointment of Pat Kelly as the new President of the Centre.

“I am very excited that Pat Kelly has agreed to take on this very important job,” stated Jim Durrell, the Chair of the Ottawa Congress Centre’s Board of Directors. “The Board and I are very anxious to get moving on our expansion project and the appointment of Pat shows that the Ottawa Congress Centre is serious about this expansion. Mr. Kelly has the experience and drive to make it happen; he has the complete support of the Board of Directors and understands the convention market in Canada’s capital.”

“On behalf of the 350 members of Ottawa Tourism, we could not be more pleased with the appointment of Pat Kelly,” said Jacques Burelle, the President of Ottawa Tourism. “Pat Kelly has a tremendous perspective on Ottawa’s tourism sector having been a hotelier, academic and tourism official.”

“I am looking forward to this challenge and am especially excited about our expansion project,” said Pat Kelly. “The Ottawa Congress Centre has a great staff and I am looking forward to working with them and the convention and tourism sector in Ottawa.”

Mr. Kelly will assume his duties at the Ottawa Congress Centre in late March.

The Ottawa Congress Centre has been the premiere convention and meeting facility in Ottawa since its opening in 1983. Offering 70,000 sq. ft of prime exhibit and meeting space, the facility has consistently outperformed other conference centres across Canada on a revenue per sq. ft basis. It is ideally located in the downtown core and is within walking distance of major hotels, shopping and Canada’s Parliament Buildings.
